Miki and her driver picked us up at the hotel and took us to the train station. We took the train from Shanghai to Hangzhou. Taking the train in China is a unique experience and we recommend it to anyone, who hasn’t done so. After arrival at Hangzhou central station, a local driver picked us up and drove us to the famous lake. Miki took us on a walk around the lake while explaining the local history and folklore to us. The walk was followed by a boat tour on the lake. On board, Miki made a tea ceremony for us and educated us about Chinese tea traditions. After the boat trip, the local driver took us to a nice restaurant right next to a big tea plantation, where we had lunch. Subsequently, we visited a large Buddhist temple and walked through the nearby tea fields. Before we ended our trip to Hangzhou, Mike took us to a Herbal Medicine Museum, which exhibits traditional Chinese medicine. In the early evening, we took the train back to Shanghai. This trip is very recommendable for everyone, who wants to spend some time outside the urban jungle of Shanghai. As on the day before, Miki gave us a well-guided tour and we thank her very much for the nice memories.
